Course Objectives: 
This course aims to explain aging, physiological changes with aging, loss in physical performance, psychosocial changes; assessment techniques in geriatric rehabilitation, test and measurements of physical and cognitive performance under the concept of evidence based physiotherapy and rehabilitation
Course Content: 
     Physiotherapy and rehabilitation with  neurological, orthopedical problems and cognitive changes occuring by aging; aging with systhemic disease and/or disability  requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation   interventions, assessment and decision making skills in geriatric rehabilitation; quality of life and creation.

2  assessment techniques in geriatric rehabilitation, test and measurements of physical and cognitive performance (Functional Indepence Measure-FIM, Activities of Daily Living-ADL Tests, timed performance tests, 6m/10m walking test, Berg balance test,  Mini Mental Test etc..)  
3  dealing with aging and social isolation, interventions for the prevention of hearing, visual, memoryand communication skills;

4  principles of increasing physical activity, falling and its risks among elderly, enviorenmental modifications against falls, precautions for the indepentent living and ADL activities, asistive devices
